About the FAC

The Fredericksburg Arts Commission promotes, supports and expands the arts as an integral part of life for all people in the Fredericksburg, Virginia, area. The Commission advises the City on policy and program development, oversees the grants and public arts programs, advocates for the arts and acts as liaison between the arts community and the City.

The next Fredericksburg Arts Commission meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 20th at 7:00pm. All are welcome.

The Arts Commission meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00pm at 601 Caroline Street. Enter near the parking deck (east side) of the building. Signs will direct you to the meeting space. Meetings are open to the public, and there are opportunities for open comments at the beginning of each meeting.

The Fredericksburg train station is looking resple $The Fredericksburg train station is looking resplendent in fall colors and a new public sculpture. “Spherica” (2024) was installed earlier this month by its creator, @lawrencefeir_sculptor “Spherica” is a stainless steel kinetic sculpture that explores the interplay of positive and negative space as it pivots in the wind. Its fluid curves gracefully shift around a soaring central axis, catching the wind and refracting light. Standing at over 18 feet tall and spanning more than 10 feet wide, “Spherica” twirls effortlessly in even the gentlest breeze. The rippling sails and reflective stainless steel spheres create a mesmerizing visual display, as shimmering patterns of light dance off its surface. The Fredericksburg Arts Commission funds the work of 6 large-scale public sculptures located throughout the city. The Black Arts Festival will be held in Fredericks

The Black Arts Festival will be held in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Saturday, November 2 from 12 pm - 7 pm. The festival will feature contextual arts, dance and live music performances from artists around the Fredericksburg area and beyond. Artists will be displaying and selling a wide variety of art in Market Square, and performers and musicians will be at Market Square and Riverfront Park. This event is brought to you by @meet_me_at_fam under the direction of Harambee 360 in partnership with @fredparksrec. The event is free and welcomes visitors of all ages!
